Hands Reaching Up

This happened in the late 1920's in Mississippi and was told to me by my late mother. There was a recreational lake built with a beach and in the middle of the lake a platform. A young man and his girlfriend swam out to the platform. She returned to shore. He dove in and was never seen again. Divers searched and searched for him and never found the body. Years later in the '30's, another young man dove off the same platform. His friend didn't see him emerge. Life guards dove in and rescued him. When they came up with the young man, they were white-faced. After being revived, he and they claimed to have see the skeleton of the lost young man with his hands reaching up to them.
