The Haunted Bedroom Dresser
I was never a scary person until recently. When I got married 21 years ago, my mother-in-law gave me a dresser and told me that she had it since her first son was born. I married her youngest of 7. It's really a beautiful antique but there was always something about it that gave the creeps. One night, I was watching late night TV and I heard this creaking noise; it became louder and louder. I got up and went in my son's room and the noise stopped. I went back to bed and minutes later, it started again. Again, I got up and it stopped. This continued for about an hour and neither my son nor my husband woke up from their peaceful sleep. As the noise got louder, the telephone rang and it was bad news. My cousin had died of a terminal illness. As I received this terrible news, the noise stopped. Several years later, the same noise started again and I had forgot what happened this first time I heard the noise. Again, the noise got louder and louder; the telephone rang and my uncle died. Years later, the noise started up again and I said "oh no, who will it be this time?" My husband thought I was crazy and I didn't even bother to explain until after I received the telephone call that my father had died of a massive heart attack during church services. Today, everyone knows about my haunted furniture and I can't give it away because no one wants it. So, I put it in my den with my computer and when I'm not in the room, the door is closed.
