The Wrecker of Weiss Lake

My story happened a year ago in Weiss Lake (Alabama). My dad wanted me to go sailing with him. Although a storm was coming, I decided to go anyway. I helped get the main sail up and then the jib. My dad told me it was getting foggy and to come back and sit with him. As I turned around I could see a light approaching us. Must be a dock, I said to myself. It started to rain and thunder. The wind made us fly at top speed. It was really great - except for that the light I saw was getting bigger and brighter. Now at this point my dad saw it and decided to radio in and see if that person would answer. "Um, this is sailing vessel Kitana to boat with big shiny light on." He said. Nothing answered. "We will be approaching you shortly and would wish for you to keep your light on!" He said again. Still no answer. By this time we got about 24 feet from the light and when we did , it went off. I went down to the cabin and got out our spot light. The rain made it hard to spot the light but I could see something different - something unusual - something - oh &*#$! There were three huge sharp rocks jutting out of the water. I could tell there were many shipwrecks there. My dad swung the boat over fast enough to avoid them. We decided to get the hell back to the club. But as we left the rocks, I could see a ghostly figure standing on the shore. He looked old - centuries old. Then I noticed the light again. He was holding a lantern to blind people who come near it. Was this just some weird person trying to kill people? Or was it a lost soul trying to catch a ride home? You decide...
